Cheryl Stephens, Plain Language Editor and Trainer, Plain Language Wizardry

A former lawyer, Cheryl has been involved in legal education, adult training, and communication for 40 years. For the last 30 years, she has consulted with businesses and the government on communication projects. She now teaches, researches, and practices plain language communication, and is known as The Plain Language Wizard. She has recently developed an interest in neurosciences. 


Cheryl is a leader in plain language communications and a dynamic and vibrant speaker. She is an expert in helping clients to become better communicators following her research-based advice. She is the author of many articles and books, including Plain Language Legal Writing, and Plain Language in Plain English.
